Sales/Business Development Manager

In this role you'll not only have the opportunity to make a significant impact, but you'll also enjoy the latitude to be successful in your own style; as a small organization we're more focused on performance than on hierarchy. At the same time, we're growing and as you play a key role in driving that growth, we'll ensure you are rewarded well.

You'll join a successful team of industry-leading consultants who enjoy achieving results together. Reporting to the President and acting Sales Manager, you'll assume direct responsibility for business development activities. Pivotal to your success will be your ability to understand potential clients' businesses, bring a consultative approach to interactions with "C" level executives, and establish yourself as a strong strategic business developer with content strength in system improvement, systems integration, and business process improvement. You'll target middle range ($50 million to $2 billion) companies, primarily in the New Jersey and New Yorkarea.

More About Your Role…
If you're a good fit for this position, you already know most of what this job entails. However, to be sure, we're providing a complete picture, here are some details. We have four leads "channels" for which you'll assume accountability although, of course, we'll look to you to explore and develop new ones as well.

  • Referrals comprise a fair portion of our business, as our clients' satisfaction is the highest recommendation. We'll look to you to pursue the ones we have in hand and develop processes for maximizing this channel.
  • We run periodic marketing campaigns to identify high growth companies for you to contact.
  • We belong to professional associations, and you'll be able to leverage our name recognition among other members. Whatever the channel, the key is to find out what companies may be facing operational challenges and get in front of those companies' decision makers -- typically a CFO, COO, CIO, or CEO. You'll need the business savvy to understand a potential client company's operations and, of course, the knowledge of our services to recommend a solution. At this point (and at other points in the process), you might bring in subject matter experts from the IMS team.
  • A typical sales cycle may last from 30 to 90 days, but it sometimes takes 6 to 12 months to transform a "suspect" into a "prospect."
  • Most of your clients will be within commuting distance, but occasionally you may travel out of state.
  • You will be assigned 12 active accounts.

What's in It for You?
Autonomy -- while you'll have the support of our team of experts, we'll grant you a great deal of independence to build relationships with clients and turn leads into consulting engagements. High impact -- you'll be one of the main "engines" driving our ongoing growth. Running start -- you'll take over a number of leads and potential opportunities that we simply haven't had the staff power to pursue; at the same time, your success will depend directly on your ability to establish and grow networks and channels to bring in engagements. In addition to a competitive base plus commission structure, we offer a generous benefits package. Bottom line: if you're creating success, we'll make sure you share in it.

To excel in this role you'll have an astute sense of business, an entrepreneurial flair, and the ability to develop knowledge in the 'hot' areas of information technology.  Integrated Management Services Inc. creates value in organizations through technology.  Our target clients are middle market companies in the consumer products and retail areas, with a focus on multi level marketing organizations.

  • A strong sales mentality and a pioneering spirit
  • Creative instincts to get beyond the gate-keeper and capture the interest of the Executive
  • Aggressive tactics to turn suspects into prospects and close the deal
  • Effective communication, presentation, and writing skills
  • An established network of contacts in New Jersey/ New York strong plus
  • A background in systems or operations is helpful
  • Previous sales experience with Citrix products is a plus

Keys to Success
If you have the kind of background we're looking for, you already know about follow-through and the self-motivation to persist in the face of rejection. At the same time, this is much more than a simple sales role, and you'll need to strategize, develop, implement, track, and perform all levels of sales and business development activity to meet and exceed the aggressive revenue and growth plans of the company. If this sounds like the right mix of challenge and opportunity for you, and you meet the minimum qualifications, we want to hear from you!

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and demonstrated success achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Significant experience selling services, ideally technology-related ones, to high-level executives.
  • Ability to travel 50-60% (most in state but occasionally you may travel out of state).

Benefits:
We value our employees’ time and efforts. Our commitment to your success is enhanced by our competitive base salary and bonus program and an extensive benefits package including travel reimbursement, paid time off, medical, dental and vision benefits and future growth opportunities within the company. Plus, we work to maintain the best possible environment for our employees, where people can learn and grow with the company. We strive to provide a collaborative, creative environment where each person feels encouraged to contribute to our processes, decisions, planning and culture.
